I've ended up giving everyone two weeks for the last contest again... Unfortunately I was away last weekend, and very busy - but im on holiday now!
Though, with the extra time we've had a lot more submissions than usual. Which are, of course, all amazing!
Next week I'm away again, so this contest may temporarily become a bi-weekly contest. If I can find internet where I'm going then I'll do my best to update it sooner!
The next contest theme is Sharp, which I think gives a lot of potential for many different approaches. I've spent the last few days messing around with home-made pinhole cameras, of which the pinholes are so small you can barely see them unless you hold them up to the light. The good thing about that is, your photos come out very sharp, especially when you can shoot on 35mm or 120mm film - The aperture must be the equivalent of an f/stop in it's hundreds...
Anyway, back to the contest, good luck!
Photos will be judged mainly on creativity, from both the perspective of actually how the photo has been taken, and also the creativity in how the image links to the theme. Judges may look for photos that make an impact, and especially photos that can cause others to think a little harder or even become inspired by. I would like to have the chance every now and again to possibly write a little about why I chose a photo or two, and by doing so help to get the community around this group discussing whether or not they find any of the photos particularly impacting or inspiring!
Each member is only allowed to submit one deviation per weekly contest, so you should put all your passion and concentration into one stunning photo! Photos can be artistic or conceptual, or both ;] and of course, related to nature!
Please note that your entries don't count as your "gallery" submissions.
Besides this, your photo could be of absolutely anything that relates to the word. On the other hand your photo could be seen as a play of words on the theme, or you could even be more adventurous and use your artwork to describe how you would interpret that word.
All visual media is welcome, so don't be afraid to get creative :]
Submitting is easy! Here is the link to the submissions folder: skyandnatureclub.deviantart.co…
Congratulations to everyone above, and good luck with next week's contest!
